The Basic Uno Gameplay Guide

The dealer shuffles the deck, deals 7 cards at a time, and places the remaining cards face down in the middle. The dealer draws and plays the first card in the deck. The next player (clockwise) plays the next card based on 2 rules: “same color or same number” and “special function card.” If not, you must draw another card from the face-down deck.

The rounds continue according to the above two rules, but when playing, the combo and double hit rules will apply. If a player has two cards left, he must shout “Uno” before playing. Conversely, if you don’t shout and are caught, you’ll have to draw two more cards.

The round ends when the first player runs out of cards, adding points to the winner. Continue with another round until someone reaches 500 points and is declared the final winner.

A complete deck of Uno cards: Standard Uno requires 108 cards, while advanced Uno requires 112 cards.

Players

Cards

Wild Draw 4 Cards: This “powerful” card allows you to choose the color for the next turn, and the next player must draw 4 more cards. If your opponent cannot do this, the combination rules below will apply.

When another player plays a +2 or +4 card to you, the combination rule applies. You can play the corresponding feature card if it exists. The next player will then receive the total number of cards drawn. Players can apply the combination rules continuously until they are unable to draw any more matching cards, at which point they must draw according to their previously accumulated total.

Double Rules
